Jay joined CXO Communication after a two-decade career in journalism that began when he took a job covering high school sports out of college. A switch to news quickly followed, and after five years in the business, he was hired by The Associated Press, where he worked for 15 years. Jay covered a range of breaking news stories for the AP and wrote frequently about commercial fishing, religion and energy. Generally, people seem most interested in his brief stints covering the Boston Red Sox. Working in journalism trained Jay to be persistent, ask the right questions and work diligently to break down complex topics into accessible copy. Jay earned his bachelor’s degree at Gordon College and received a master’s degree at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He’s married with two children, enjoys playing baseball, and is a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.
