Why Your Network Needs to be in DC11

Phil Schwarzmann

Our latest IBX data center, DC11 just outside Washington D.C. in Ashburn, Virginia, opens its doors this Thursday. So why does your network need to be inside DC11?

“If you’re not there, you’re missing a real opportunity,” says Equinix Marketing Manager Lisa Kennedy. “You don’t want to miss the opportunity to connect to just about anyone you’d need to connect to.”

DC11 sits at the most network-dense location in North America. Grand central station for the Internet, if you will. One of eight fiber-connected buildings on our Ashburn campus with more than 500,000 square feet of data center space. DC11 adds more than 42,000 square feet for customer colocation with 1,200 cabinets.

There’s a good reason 618 companies, including almost 200 networks, already sit inside our Ashburn campus. Networks like Earthlink, Sprint, XO Communications, Zayo Group, AT&T, NTT Communcations, CenturyLink, Verizon, Level 3 Communications, and Cogent Communications to name a few. More than 50% of networks inside our Ashburn campus have an international presence. They’re all there to accelerate their business performance by utilizing Equinix’s diverse customer base, dense aggregation of networks and strong presence in the strategic Washington, DC market.

Equinix’s Lisa Kennedy can’t stress enough the need to be inside DC11. “You need to be here!”

So why not be part of the largest Internet exchange point in North America?
