New Partner Programs Focus on the Enterprise Cloud and Colocation Customers


Good news for solutions integrators, value-added resellers and technology consultants dealing in data center colocation services: Equinix has launched two new (and improved!) partner programs that make it easy for our referral and master sales agent partners to grow their revenue streams with Equinix beyond colo and expand into cloud services.

According to a recent article in channelinsider, “As more companies increase cloud spending and place greater emphasis on performance, there will be new opportunities for IT channel companies to help enterprises with vendor selection and cloud infrastructure management.” We could not agree more and see cloud computing as a huge opportunity for our partners.

We’ve rolled out an enhanced global Referral partner program and a new U.S.-based Master Sales Agent partner program. Both of these programs are targeted at addressing enterprises’ rapid adoption of cloud solutions.

Global Referral Partner Program

Our new global Referral partner program is aimed at a broad scope of technology service providers, including (but not limited to) SIs, VARs, and IT and cloud consultants.

The new program features include:

  • a new, more lucrative commission structure, making it easier to earn multiple commissions from existing customers
  • a faster and friendlier customer referral registration system
  • direct access to the Partner Program resources and Partner Central portal

The program encourages referral partners to introduce Equinix to potential customers. In return, we can lend our support via our expert global solutions architects and Solution Validation Centers to help partners close business and make revenue faster. All our referral partners need to do is introduce us to the prospect and provide nominal engagement, and Equinix will do the rest.

U.S.-based Master Sales Agent Partner Program

The Master Sales Agent (MSA) partner program is focused on better supporting our customers and extending our sales reach through our channel partners in North America. MSAs have a large depth and breadth of enterprise customers that are trying to solve specific technology issues, such as hybrid cloud adoption. The MSAs also work with a large network of Sales Agents that are more targeted to specific regions and expertise and give the MSAs a broader reach into the marketplace. Customers are better serviced by a network of MSAs and their supporting sales agents that are backed by broad technical and sales support organizations.

The new Master Sales Agent partner program includes:

  • lucrative sales commissions for MSAs and sales agents
  • guest access to the worldwide Equinix Partner Central portal where partners can easily download sales and marketing materials, training and tools and request marketing support
  • guest access to the Equinix Marketplace, a private portal for Equinix customers and partners worldwide where they meet to do business

Create Value beyond Colocation

While these two new programs enhance our incentive payments, the magnitude of the opportunity becomes evident when partners take advantage of the two solutions that only Equinix can offer their customers: Equinix Cloud Exchange™ and Equinix Performance Hub™.
