Equinix has again claimed a spot in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 rankings, the fifth straight year we’ve been listed among the continent’s fastest-rising tech companies.
The Deloitte’s list ranks the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America, based on fiscal year revenue growth between 2009 and 2013. Equinix grew at 145% during that period, good for No. 477 on the list.
Overall, companies on the list achieved growth ranging from 135% to 123,678%. Average growth was 1,640%.
“The companies ranked on the 2014 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 continue to set the bar for their industry higher each year,” said Eric Openshaw, vice chairman, U.S. technology, media and telecommunications leader at Deloitte.
Equinix officials said growth has been propelled by cloud adoption and demand for interconnection.
Equinix Chief operating officer Charles Meyers said Equinix is aggressively building cloud density and has more than 450 cloud service providers (CSPs) on its global data center platform.
“These CSPs are interconnecting with network services in a way that makes Platform Equinix the logical home for hybrid cloud deployments,” he said. “This large-scale adoption of cloud continues to drive our business to new heights and for the fifth consecutive year we are very proud to be recognized by Deloitte as a rapidly growing tech company.”
Equinix has earned a spot on the Technology Fast 500 list in Europe, as well, in 2007.
