Chief Marketing Officer, Sara Baack, hosts a panel at Gartner Catalyst Conference 2017 in San Diego.
Digital transformation is changing how we do business, consume services and interact with the world around us, forcing companies in every industry to redefine business models and customer engagement experiences. Disruptors such as Uber in transportation, Airbnb in hospitality and Amazon in eCommerce tend to get the most attention, but even traditional industries such as financial services, insurance and healthcare are embracing digital technologies to provide more personalized consumer experiences.
Digital transformation is also taking every business to a new level of complexity. Bringing disruptive technologies such as cloud, big data, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), software-defined networking (SDN), mobile and the Internet of Things (IoT) into your enterprise means you inevitably need to re-architect your existing IT infrastructures to efficiently and effectively serve your users in this new world. This means shifting from centralized and siloed functions to those distributed and integrated capabilities that match the evolving trends of a rapidly growing global digital economy.
Over the last 20 years, we at Equinix have been immersed in the digital transformation of thousands of businesses across all industries, and have been the catalyst behind the creation of hundreds of digital and business ecosystems. The theme of this year’s Gartner Catalyst Conference, is “Architecting Digital Ecosystems,” so it seems only fitting to share the experiences and insights we have gained in helping our customers transform into digital businesses with this year’s Gartner Catalyst attendees.
Secrets to successful digital business transformation
At this year’s Gartner Catalyst Conference, we will demonstrate how our leading enterprise customers around the world are successfully navigating their own digital business transformations. We’ll share how they have overcome the barriers of increasing IT fragmentation, complexity and cost in their digital deployments. This includes insights into how to utilize an Interconnection Oriented Architecture® (IOA®) strategy to deploy decentralized points of integration and control at the edge of your digital business. We’ll show you how to leverage blueprints designed from our customers’ real-world implementations to best position your company for digital business. You can learn all of this and more by attending our session “Architecting Digital Business Integration & Control Points” on Monday, August 20th from 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM in the Seaport Ballroom A.
We will also hold a fireside chat with our customers Caterpillar and Enterprise Holdings to explore how they are leveraging interconnection and colocation using an IOA® strategy to address the challenges that arise when you bring clouds, locations and partners together. They will discuss how they are implementing points of integration and control into their digital business platform to support secure digital ecosystem data exchanges for multicloud, IoT and analytics. This panel session, “Fireside Chat – IT Strategies for Digital Business Platforms,” will be held on Tuesday, August 21st from 10:45 AM – 11:30 AM in the Seaport Ballroom D.
Finally, we’ll be conducting a real-time demonstration on how to dynamically interconnect multiple clouds, locations and business partners across a mesh of interconnected control points using Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric™ (ECX Fabric™). The live “Integration & Control with SD-Interconnection & Colo” demonstration will be held on Tuesday, August 21st from 1:00 PM – 1:20 PM in the TechZone Theatre. Attendees will learn how to leverage an IOA strategy to deliver simplified, secure performance for digital ecosystem integration and data exchange across multiple locations, clouds (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud) and partners (ServiceNow, SAP) on Platform Equinix®.
Accessing best practices and expertise for digital business success
At last year’s Gartner Catalyst Conference, we launched the IOA Knowledge Base (IOAKB), an open repository of best practices based on our customers’ real-world deployments. Registering for IOAKB grants you access to an increasing number of architectural blueprints (e.g., network, security, data, application, hybrid multicloud, IoT), technical design patterns and edge use cases. This year, the IOAKB has expanded its offerings to include an open community of peer-based exchanges across forums, blogs and discussion channels. You can also post questions and get answers from Equinix and industry experts on digital edge ideas and solutions. See the IOAKB in action in our Booth #300 or go online at IOAKB.
If you can’t visit us at this year’s Gartner Catalyst Conference, we have other online resources in addition to the IOAKB that will help you accelerate your digital business success. For example, the Global Interconnection Index, Volume 1 published by Equinix is an annual measurement and forecast of the growth of Interconnection Bandwidth by geography, industry, and enterprise and service provider use case. It will provide you with valuable insights into how interconnection can enable you to scale your digital business.
