We are proud to announce that Equinix will be joining an elite group of trusted partners who have been named at Microsoft Inspire as the inaugural members of the Microsoft Azure Networking MSP Program.   Through this new Microsoft partner program, we will offer Microsoft Azure connectivity focused architecture consulting and optimized network planning, design and implementation services via the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. These services help our joint enterprise customers worldwide achieve better business outcomes with on-demand access to Microsoft Azure via Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric™.

Equinix provides global consulting and implementation services through the Equinix Professional team that guides customers through complex IT infrastructure changes, WAN transformations, and hybrid and multicloud deployments to quickly deliver outstanding business results. Our Microsoft Azure Connectivity and Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute strategy, planning, design and implementation services, which qualified us for the program, enable our enterprise customers to leverage ExpressRoute globally across Platform Equinix® to advance their cloud strategies. We work in close collaboration with Microsoft and our customers to help optimize their network architectures to capitalize on benefits of Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Azure is commonly leveraged for key workloads that include big data, storage, backup and recovery, hybrid cloud applications, productivity applications, and content and media.

Equinix has been offering direct access to Microsoft Azure since 2014 and today, we are one of the largest global providers of ExpressRoute connections to Microsoft Azure. We offer direct connections to Microsoft Azure and Office 365 via the Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric™ and Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute in 22 locations: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Sao Paulo, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Toronto, Washington DC, Amsterdam, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Osaka. Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute circuits automatically provide two active connections for high availability and deliver an uptime SLA of 99.99%.

Equinix has consistently demonstrated the development of innovative products, solutions and services based on Microsoft technologies. Our customers can be confident of better business outcomes when working with Equinix Professional Services, as they are working with a Microsoft partner recognized as a Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform Partner, Microsoft recommended ExpressRoute Integrator, and Microsoft Azure Networking MSP Partner.

“We are honored to be one of the select few inaugural partners within MSFT’s new Microsoft Azure Networking MSP Program. With Microsoft’s physical infrastructure for ExpressRoute residing in Equinix data centers worldwide, our Professional Services team is uniquely positioned to provide best-of-breed Microsoft Azure networking and ExpressRoute consulting and implementation services. Our participation in the program is testament of our joint strategic investment and the importance of making our customers’ cloud journey as seamless as possible,” said Ryan Mallory, Equinix Senior Vice President, Global Solutions Enablement.

The following is an excellent example of how an IT organization leveraged our Professional Services team to implement an optimized, scalable and cost-effective Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute solution and cloud connectivity strategy. A state government agency needed to quickly expand its Microsoft Azure Cloud footprint across three geographically dispersed metro locations. To help address its network architecture challenges, Equinix and Microsoft partnered to deliver an Equinix Professional Services ExpressRoute Strategy and Connectivity Workshop, a cost-effective method for meeting the current and future needs of the agency’s complex environment. After the workshop, the agency implemented Equinix’s recommendations for ExpressRoute via Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric™ Enablement, which provided direct and secure, low-latency interconnection to cloud services for the agency and its sub-agencies, including end-to-end testing to verify the Microsoft Azure connectivity operability. The final solution also removed select high-bandwidth IP traffic from the agency’s existing internet connections, and moved it over to the Equinix Internet Exchange for greater cost and performance benefits.

“Equinix has been aligned with Microsoft for many years to provide high-level interconnection and global access to Microsoft Azure,” said Ross Ortega, Partner Program Manager, Microsoft Azure Networking at Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Equinix’s Professional Services team, an already established Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform Partner. Welcoming them as one of our program launch partners is indicative of how their Microsoft Azure connectivity planning, architecture and onboarding services enables our customers to optimize their success with Microsoft Azure.”
