Equinix Honors 2019 Partnership Award Winners

Today more than ever, the dynamic interactions and data exchanges taking place between digital partner ecosystems are producing more innovation and value than any single company could achieve on its own. For example, healthcare providers are leveraging the cloud to deliver critical telemedicine visits to patients that are “sheltering in place” due to COVID-19. And the frontline network, cloud, unified communications and collaboration, and digital and content media companies are delivering continuous services that have been a vital foundation for maintaining businesses, schools, governments, media outlets and our general well-being during this crisis.

We will be highlighting how Equinix partners are addressing businesses’ urgent IT infrastructure needs due to the global pandemic in our ongoing webinar series, “Connectivity for The New Reality.”

By 2022, marketplaces without a proactive, valued partner ecosystem will fail. IDC

The impact of digital ecosystems on business today is so significant that according to IDC, “By 2022, marketplaces without a proactive, valued partner ecosystem will fail.”[i]

Equinix partner award winners team up with cloud and network ecosystems to co-create new customer value

It’s exciting to see the innovative new digital solutions our partners are co-creating on Platform Equinix. The following are just a few examples of how our award winners teamed up with other Equinix network and cloud ecosystem participants to bring their customers new value in 2019:

Telstra leveraged Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric™ (ECX Fabric™) to enable Telstra’s Programmable Network (TPN) customers to create private network connections to multiple public cloud provider partners, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud, in just minutes. That’s a significant performance improvement over the weeks or months that more traditional cloud connectivity approaches often require. Building deeper integration with ECX Fabric also empowers Telstra customers to privately access a full range of cloud services available via ECX Fabric, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, UCaaS, DDoS mitigation, data storage as-a-service providers and more.

Zenlayer, a global edge cloud services provider, joined forces with Equinix and Brazilian carrier partners to deliver a global, ultra-low latency solution (<20 ms response time) to its customers via a more reliable network. As a result, Zenlayer delivers a gaming company’s customers the same outstanding user experience in all of its global markets. Zenlayer provided 250 bare metal servers at a local International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data center in São Paulo, Brazil, along with local IP transit with carriers via the Equinix Internet Exchange™ (IX) portal and dedicated connections among its global PoPs. The client’s solution realized a 15% reduction in latency during peak hours, which translated directly into higher customer satisfaction and greater participation on their platform. Zenlayer also delivered these services at a 25% lower cost than its client had previously been paying for comparable services.

Equinix and Orange Business Services (OBS) collaborated to help transform the infrastructure of multinational enterprises to support robust and scalable cloud-based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) services from providers such as Zoom, Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Teams. The OBS global network, in conjunction with direct and secure interconnection via ECX Fabric to leading network and cloud providers, delivers service level agreement (SLA) consistency, unsurpassed scalability and a single point of management across multiple UCC providers. Leveraging private interconnection, OBS UCC customers can realize greater performance, higher operational efficiency and reduce the security threats commonly associated with the public internet or legacy WANs.

These powerful examples demonstrate just some of the many ways our partners are directly accessing rich cloud, network and customer ecosystems on Platform Equinix to scale their digital solutions, accelerate time to market and enhance the experiences they are delivering to customers globally.

As a leading global interconnection and data center provider, we are committed to making Platform Equinix the best place possible for companies to transform and grow as digital businesses. This includes helping them develop meaningful partnerships and participate in rich ecosystems through our interactive Equinix Marketplace of more than 9,500 members worldwide.

We would like to congratulate all our partner winners and thank each of them for the leadership they have demonstrated in helping enterprises advance their digital transformations on Platform Equinix!

And check out our webinar series “Connectivity for The New Reality.”
