And it was only fitting that we held this 24-hour interactive, global follow-the-sun event on the six month anniversary of launching Equinix Metal™, and the one year anniversary of Equinix acquiring bare metal leader Packet.

Equinix Metal product manager, Miles Thomas, in his recent blog, “Don’t Talk About It, Show It,” gave a recap of some of the highlights from Proximity. For example, you can see how Google Cloud’s Cody Hill uses the Portal 2Remote Play gaming function to utilize a server at a data center over 1,000 miles away. He does this using a Raspberry Pi and Google Anthos “applications anywhere” capabilities on Equinix Metal (utilizing GPUs at the edge), with Portworx by Pure Storage as the underlying layer.
