Data centers: They’re something most people don’t think about every day, but they’re the foundation of the technologies we all rely on. Data centers house the infrastructure that makes everything from financial trading to online gaming to digital healthcare possible. While they might operate out-of-sight and out-of-mind for the average person, they’re the backbone of our digital world.
Equinix recently had the opportunity to partner with the popular YouTube channel – Linus Tech Tips for an amazing, behind-the-scenes tour of one of our Toronto facilities. Linus Sebastian, co-founder of Linus Media Group, provides a fascinating and educational close-up look at the state-of-the-art technologies and design elements in Equinix facilities—including security measures, cooling systems, networking and more. This Toronto location, TR2, is home to some very innovative data center elements. Linus touches on some of TR2’s incredible design innovations including multiple factors of redundancy, top to bottom architectural approach, safety & security measures and Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC) which can be found at a site nearby (TR1).
