Indonesia’s Growing Digital Economy
Indonesia is rapidly becoming a regional digital powerhouse. With over 200 million internet users and a young, tech-savvy population, its digital economy – projected to reach $140 billion by 2025 – is booming, driven by industries like e-commerce, fintech, and cloud computing. Jakarta’s strategic location also connects it to other regional economies like Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, making it an ideal base for enterprises expanding in Southeast Asia. To meet Indonesia’s rising digital infrastructure needs, Equinix has launched its first AI-ready data center JK1.
Located in the city’s Central Business District in Jakarta, where much of the nation’s economic and business activity is hosted, JK1 is an eight-story, state-of-the-art facility designed to support local and global businesses.

Equinix JK1 Tour with Guests of Honor
JK1, located in Jakarta’s CBD, is in close proximity to major internet exchanges in the region that enables Indonesian businesses to access the rich network of highly connected IBXs globally. Its eight-story facility will offer 550 cabinets in the first phase, with a total capacity of 1,600 cabinets and colocation space of 5,300 square meters when fully built.
