São Paulo sits at its center, home to the densest concentration of cloud providers, financial services firms, networks and digital platforms on the continent. Equinix SP6, our newest IBX® data center in the São Paulo metro, was purpose-built to meet that demand. Located in Santana de Parnaíba, SP6 delivers high-density, AI-ready colocation with infrastructure prepared for advanced liquid cooling — backed by a US$114 million investment.
A Campus Built for Scale and the Future of AI
SP6 is part of an expanding Equinix campus in Santana de Parnaíba, with the upcoming SP7 facility and sites designated for additional data centers already in development. Together, these investments reinforce Brazil’s trajectory as a global digital infrastructure hub — not just a regional one.
The facility supports high-density workloads across AI, data-intensive applications and hybrid multicloud architectures. And it was designed with water efficiency as a priority. SP6 uses cooling technology that eliminates evaporative water consumption entirely, achieving an operational water-use effectiveness (WUE) of zero. In practice, water use at the facility is limited to human needs only. SP6 reflects the same design approach Equinix applies globally, where the company achieved an average WUE of 0.91 across its entire portfolio in 2025. (Explore our full sustainability commitment)
