We are celebrating the launch of the nearly $60 million expansion to our MI1 facility on the Equinix Miami campus. Today, MI1 is one of the most interconnected gateway data centers in the U.S., offering unsurpassed connectivity options to LA&C markets. It is where domestic and international companies, service providers and government agencies can gain access to rich ecosystems of enterprises and network, cloud and SaaS providers under one roof.
Equinix’s MI1 facility, one of the densest colocation sites in the southern United States, is right in the center of that hub, creating rich opportunities for companies in the southern North American, LATAM and Caribbean markets and earning its title as the Network Access Point of the Americas (NAP). Now, MI1 is offering access to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for new growth opportunities for North and South American businesses.
The building was designed after The Crystal Palace, which was built in 19th century London to host the first in a series of world fairs. Its glass, steel and sheer size (7 floors, 1.6 million square feet) make it one of the largest and most distinct buildings in the Dallas area. And inside, it’s got some trademark Equinix color and flair.
The Infomart acquisition means every one of our customers will be able to grow with Equinix in Dallas, confident that the industry ecosystems they rely on will always be a cross connect away. The Infomart allows us to enable Dallas as a rich campus environment, where we’ll be ready to meet our customers’ diverse interconnection and colocation needs well into the future.
